The Re/Max Malta contingent at the Re/Max International Convention held recently in Las Vegas, Nevada, the US, was acknowledged for its achievements in 2013 at a worldwide level. Every year, Re/Max Malta affiliates and management attend this four-day convention, entitled R4 (Reunite, Refresh, Reward and Recommit).

The annual event attracts over 6,500 delegates who come together to discuss strategy, network, learn and interact and hear international keynote speakers. This year the keynote speakers were Dave Liniger, chairman of Re/Max LLC, Darren Hardy, publisher of Success Magazine, Simon O’Sinek, author of the leadership book Start With Why, and Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson, former professional NBA basketball player turned entrepreneur and public speaker. They were also provided entertainment from award-winning country singer Keith Urban.

Re/Max Malta delegates attending the convention included CEO Kevin Buttigieg, director Jeff Buttigieg, manager and co-franchise owner Mauro Sammut, associate and co-franchise owner Philip Incorvaja, associate Mark Micallef and regional trainer Paul Vincenti.

Sammut said: “For anybody else in our local industry it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience; luckily because we are Re/Max, we have the opportunity to experience this every year. After all the learning and networking we do, it is very hard not to attend next year. I will attend next year.” This was the second time Sammut had attended the event.

During the four-day convention the Maltese affiliates attended several training courses, meetings and an international referral networking event where they promoted Maltese properties, Malta’s Global Residence Programme and the Citizenship by Investment programme.

Delegates from 90 different countries from all over the world attended the event. Buttigieg said: “We negotiated agreements with African, Middle Eastern as well as British regions, among others, to promote Malta as a destination for a second home or residence.”

Vincenti, Re/Max Malta’s own trainer, was invited by Re/Max International to deliver a powerful one-hour session related to the four different types of psychological characters that Re/Max associates meet while selling property.

Vincenti’s session, named 4, was attended by over 400 associates from around the world. In the past, Vincenti has trained Re/Max associates from Turkey, Italy, Ireland and England South and is in negotiations to train associates in other regions.

On the last day of the event, Re/Max International honour their high achievers during a gala dinner called the Night of the Stars. Re/Max Malta won the award Best office – Transactions, Internationally based on its performance of 2013.

Other awards were presented to Incorvaja, who was inducted into the International 100 Per Cent Club Award category, and Buttigieg, who was inducted into the Re/Max Hall of Fame.

Re/Max Malta was also nominated as the Region of the Year for the second year in a row.

Speaking about the awards, Buttigieg, said: “Being honoured for so many international awards is excellent for our country as well as a testimonial of the excellent service we provide to our customers. There isn’t a better time to join Re/Max Malta.”

As part of its corporate strategy, Re/Max Malta awards its top performers with a complementary trip to the Re/Max International Convention. After its success of the convention, the company has already received a number of requests to attend the next event.
