As part of the programme of national celebrations being overseen by the Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Nazzjonali (FCN), the former Malta Shipbuilding shed will today week be transformed into a music venue; its last stand before being taken over and for redevelopment.

The location has lent its name to the event being staged, namely the Music & Steel Festival, its line-up featuring six of Malta’s top bands. The event is one of more than 60 events in the FCN’s artistic programme, and will bring together a variety of music genres, namely rock, ska, nu-folk, pop and world music. The participating bands are The New Victorians, The Crowns, Red Electrick, The Rifffs, Airport Impressions and Tribali.

The concert takes place next Sunday between 7.30pm and midnight. Entrance is free.
