White Hart 2
Young Stars 5

The two teams sized up each other during the first ten minutes but a minute later Daniel Siefert popped up at the top of the D and shot White Hart ahead with a powerful finish.

White Hart exerted further pressure on the Young Stars rearguard who cleared their lines with difficulty following a penalty corner action in the 14th minute.

After White Hart fluffed a clear-cut chance, Young Stars won a penalty corner and Mark Camilleri netted to equalise.

Joseph Dalli then shot Young Stars ahead when he scored after receiving an accurate pass from Camilleri.

White Hart, who were giving a good account of themselves, levelled on 38 minutes when Paul Torpiano was on the right spot to push home a loose ball. However, it took only two minutes for Young Stars to restore their lead when Camilleri netted his second.

Both teams increased their efforts but it was Clive Williams, of Young Stars, who hit a screamer to send his team into a two-goal lead.

From then on the Stars administered their lead and in the last minute Camilleri notched his hat-trick to give his team a 5-2 victory and keep them in the hunt for league honours.

Rabat 2
Sliema Hotsticks 3

Sliema Hotsticks started the game like a house on fire and were 3-0 up by the half-time whistle.

They won three early penalty corners and Steve Portelli shot them ahead on the third time of asking.

Hotsticks went further ahead three minutes later when Portelli finished off a neat triangular move in the D.

After a period of midfield dominance, when defences were on top, Ryan Dalli was again on the mark for the Sliema team.

The game turned on its head in the second half as Rabat were far more determined and looking eager to avoid a drubbing.

They won four penalty corners but did not convert any of them.

Nevertheless, they continued to put Hotsticks under pressure and on 60 minutes Kevin Micallef reduced the arrears and grabbed a second goal soon after when Jonathan Micallef hit home from a melee.

A frantic few minutes followed but Hotsticks managed to hang on for victory.

Umpires: Luke Busuttil Leaver, Paul Brincat.
