ELBEBAS. On March 6, at St James Hospital, Żabbar, to Hazar Elgamoudi and Abdulbaset, a most welcome son – MOHAMMED, brother to Mariam and Zain. Thanks to the St James Hospital team, especially midwives Anna Calleja, Anna Croucher and the doctor.

SAWICKI. On February 6, at Arrowe Park Hospital, UK, to Johanna née Scicluna and Wojciech, the precious gift of a son – HARRY, a brother to Emily. Deo gratias et Mariæ.

Obituaries

ATTARD. On March 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, Joseph C., aged 89, of Fgura, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, daughters Eileen and her husband Tony, Mary and her husband Joseph, his son Dennis, grandchildren Mark, Sharon and her boyfriend Jonathan and Ryan, his great-grandson Matthias, brothers John and Paul and their wives Joyce and Vivienne, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Fgura parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Żabbar cemetery. BONNICI. On March 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLIE of Gżira, (ex-employee, Karta Converters), aged 76, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ġorġina, Anna and Peter, Maris and Mario, his grandchildren Gorianne, Dario and Ramon and their fiancées, his siblings, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SPITERI. On March 14 at Mater Dei Hospital, MARTIN JOSEPH (Director, Joseph F. Spiteri & Co (1927) Ltd), of Kappara, passed peacefully away aged 59, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Pauline née Zammit, his children Marquita and Chris, Arlette and Simon, Maria and Ian, Charlotte and Nick, Nicky and Janice, his treasured grandson Julian, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for St Julian’s parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest. St Patrick’s Day

A special Mass will this year be celebrated at St Patrick’s church, Sliema, tomorrow at 10.30am for the Irish community and its friends. Visitors are also very welcome. Refreshments will be served after Mass.

Orthopaedic Surgery Technology presentation

Dr Ulrich Rebers will give an illustrated presentation entitled Made in Germany – Navigation Technology in Orthopaedic Surgery, in collaboration with the International Knee & Hip Centre Malta, at the German-Maltese Circle, Messina Palace, St Christopher Street, Valletta, on Tuesday at 7pm. Joseph Aquilina and family would like to thank Fr Nicholas Aquilina and all the Rev. Clergy who concelebrated Mass at Siġġiewi parish church, all relatives and friends who attended the funeral Mass, sent flowers, cards and donations on the sad loss of JESSIE AQUILINA, of Luqa, who resided in Siġġiewi, a much beloved wife, mother and grandmother who passed away peacefully on February 1, 2014.
