This year Siġġiewi Day was celebrated at The Limestone Heritage Park and Gardens.

After welcoming President George Abela and other guests, Siġġiewi mayor Karol Aquilina explained there was a reason why this important event was being held at the park.

Dr Aquilina said the park had become a great asset not just for Siġġiewi but for all of Malta. Dr Abela presented Manuel Baldacchino and his family with a medal and certificate for having attracted visitors to Siġġiewi.

The park, inaugurated in 2002, is visited by around 75,000 people yearly. With its permanent exhibition of quarrying tools, machinery and dioramas, the complex hosts upmarket events in an environment where patrons can comfortably enjoy the pleasures of the Maltese countryside.
