The gaming company BWIN shall be investing in Malta after it was granted several licences by the Gaming Authority to offer an online casino, sportsbook and poker, Parliamentary Secretary Edward Zammit Lewis said today.

He was speaking during a visit to Bit8, which has been nominated as innovator of the year by London’s International Gaming Awards.

Dr Zammit Lewis said that BWIN was a leader in poker, bingo, online sports betting and casino and offered thousands of varied games daily.

Such investment, he said, filled the government with courage and enthusiasm to work harder and confirmed Malta’s good reputation as a main jurisdiction in the remote gaming industry.

He also congratulated Bit8 on its success saying that since it embarked on operations in Malta in 2008, it had developed a significant platform of clients. It employed 40 people.
