Nobody was injured when a public bus caught fire in Żurrieq yesterday evening as the driver doused the flames with a fire extinguisher.
The bus full of commuters was heading into Żurrieq from Valletta when white smoke filled the air.
Civil Protection Department personnel arrived soon after and ensured there was no more danger.
The latest fire comes on the back of a more serious incident in January when a bus was destroyed by a blaze in Burmarrad.
That bus had not been carrying passengers and Malta Public Transport Services, the State company running the bus service, opened an investigation to determine the cause.
A series of fiery incidents last year had forced bendy buses off the road.
