BORG. On March 9, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, GEORGE (Gino) of Fgura, aged 67, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Rita, his daughter Jennifer, his sons Kevin and his wife Flavia, Arnold, and Massimo and his wife Lydia, his grandchildren Louanne, Justin, Kirsty and Keira, his sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. GALEA-NAUDI. On March 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, of St Julian’s, passed away peacefully, aged 67, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mandy, his two sons Peter and Julian, Sarah, his grandson Karl, his brothers Francis and Robert and their spouses, nephews, nieces, and close friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday at 1.30 p.m. for Balluta church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cfemetery. MIFSUD – MARIA, née Engerer, went to join her daughter Pat on Monday, March 10. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Henry, her son Peter and his partner Maria, her daughter Diane and her husband Renato Zammit la Rosa, her daughter-in-law Patricia Mifsud, her grandchildren Max, Philip, Christina, Michaela, and Carl, her carer Len Len and other relatives and friends. MIZZI. Suddenly, on March 9, CARMEN, née Mallia, aged 66, passed away peacefully, joining her children Maria, Joanna and Silvan, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mournher loss her beloved husband Alfred, her son-in-law Ray Brincat, her sisters Silvia and Frank Millson, Antoinette Iemma, Rose and Alfred Scerri, Mary and Joseoh Genovese, Maria Dolores and Nicholas Formosa, Margaret and Gaetano Scerri, her brother Joseph and Anne Mallia, nephews and nieces, cousins, relatives and friends in Malta and abroad. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, St Julian’s, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm, followed by interment in the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters, Lina, widow of Vincent Micallef and Frances, widow of Joseph Cordina, his nephews and nieces, Raymond Sghendo and his wife Antoinette, Mario Micallef and his wife Monica, Mariella and her husband Robert Pisani, Maria Cordina and her husband Hilary Caruana, together with his grand-nephews and nieces, Andrew and Jennifer Micallef and Francesca Caruana, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Palace Hospital tomorrow at 9.15am for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. An antique furniture sale is being held at St Helen parish centre Birkirkara (behind the basilica) from Thursday to Sunday.

Opening hours will be daily between 9am and noon and 4.30 to 7.30pm.

Statue of Our Saviour

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the ttitular statue of Our Saviour in Lija, the feast committee is holding an exhibition at the old parish church between Thursday and Sunday. The opening ceremony on Thursday at 7.30pm will be presided by Auxiliary Bishop Mgr Charles Scicluna.
