The second edition of the Malta Airport – Alive 2014 Cycling Challenge for Cancer in July will take 45 cyclists across five European cities – Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade – in seven days. The funds raised from this challenge will go towards the Research Trust (RIDT) of the University of Malta for breast cancer research projects.

The initiative was announced by Alive Charity Foundation chairman Nicky Camilleri, in collaboration with Action for Breast Cancer Foundation and Europa Donna Malta. Present for the launch were the President’s wife Margaret Abela, the Prime Minister’s wife and president of the Marigold Foundation, Michelle Muscat, RIDT chief executive officer Wilfred Kenely and breast cancer survivor and patient Rimona Mifsud Cristiano.
