Footwear brand Aldo has embarked on a fight against Aids through its new fundraising and awareness #FriendsFight campaign.

As part of the campaign, the brand is presenting a collection of friendship bracelets designed by Waris Loves You, available in red, black, navy and mint.

All proceeds from the unisex bracelets – adorned with an arrow charm in antique gold finish – will be donated to Partners in Health, a non-profit organisation whose HIV Equity Initiative in Haiti revolutionised the way the world approaches and funds diseases among the poor.

“We have been committed to fight Aids from as far back as 1985, when few were willing to take a stand. It’s a cause very close to our heart and today, more than ever, we continue our commitment to raising awareness and funds to help protect and educate people around the world. We’ve come a long way but the fight is not over yet,” said Aldo Bensadoun, founder and executive chairman of the Aldo Group.

“It represents friendship and solidarity and is an invitation to join together in the fight against Aids,” he added.

“I always say my inspirations come from love and history,” said Waris Ahluwalia, designer and CEO of Waris Loves You and House of Waris.

“With these bracelets, it’s about standing side by side with friends and loved ones for what’s right and noble. The arrow symbolises truth, justice and movement forward. It’s a powerful way to create change.”

Aldo has been actively involved in the fight against Aids, raising more than €7 million for international Aids programmes.

The #FriendsFight friendship bracelets are being sold in Aldo stores worldwide and online at http://www.aldoshoes.com.
