Opposition leader Simon Busuttil is in Dublin, where he will address the Congress of the European Popular Party.

The Congress will be chaired by Irish Prime Minister Gael Enda Kenny and the president of the EPP Joseph Daul.

Topping the agenda is the EPP electoral programme for the European Parliament elections and the selection of the candidate for the European Commission presidency once José Manuel Barroso's term ends.

Taking part in the congress will be 2,000 delegates from 39 countries including EU President Herman Van Rompuy, Mr Barroso, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
