A total of 41 casualties were assisted by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps during the five-day Nadur carnival. Eight were taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.

The ERRC said this morning that Saturday was the busiest day.

It said the majority of casualties suffered from excessive consumption of alcohol, but there were other cases of head injuries and fractures.

On one of the days, the ERRC assisted in the search for a four-year-old boy.

The ERRC thanked the Nadur council, the police and Emergency Department staff at Gozo General Hospital for their support.
