Pietà Hotspurs 7
Żejtun Corinthians 0

Raphael Kooh Sohna was in hot form yesterday, scoring four goals as Pietà Hotspurs hammered Żejtun Corinthians at the Centenary Stadium.

It was a dominant display from the Hotspurs who have now stretched their lead over Żebbuġ Rangers to six points at the top of the table. The latter face Gżira United this afternoon.

The leaders struck in their first foray after just seven minutes. Kooh Sohna dashed into the area but was brought down by Jean Galea. From the resultant penalty, Jurgen Pisani put Pietà ahead.

Four minutes later, Żejtun goalkeeper Roderick Debattista did well to push away Kyle Cesare’s header while Kooh Sohna hit the side-netting after being set up by Jonathan Zarate.

Pietà doubled their lead on 15 minutes when Kooh Sohna rose well to connect with Cain Attard’s corner and head the ball home.

Żejtun’s response failed to materialise and on 25 minutes Noel Coleiro’s team made it 3-0 when Cesare slotted home from close in.

The goals kept coming and 10 minutes from the break, Ricardo Costa headed goal number four from a corner action.

The second half followed the same script. On 53 minutes, Kooh Sohna was blocked by the onrushing Debattista.

Żejtun finally threatened a minute later when Gers Delia drove the ball high and wide from just inside the area.

Kooh Sohna grabbed his second of the match on the hour when he squeezed past two defenders to make it 5-0.

The Cameroon striker completed his hat-trick on 73 minutes when he rounded Debattista and deposited the ball into an empty net.

Kooh Sohna sealed an impressive attacking performance nine minutes from time when he dived full stretch to head home from Attard’s cross as the Hotspurs wrapped up an impressive victory.
