The four-star Seashells Resort at the Suncrest Hotel in Qawra has reopened following a €750,000 revamp of the main restaurant and kitchen.

AX Hotels undertook a programme of improvements and maintenance as part of a refurbishment programme spread over five years, which will culminate next year when the hotel will refurbish all its guestrooms.

The project includes a new restaurant – Coral Cove, with an area for show cooking, as well as the installation of a state-of-the-art kitchen.

With a seating capacity of 460 people, the restaurant will be able to cater for small and large events such as birthdays and graduations.

With the opening of Coral Cove, the resort will be offering Sunday lunch buffets with an upgraded menu. Meanwhile, the popular It-Tokk restaurant will continue offering authentic Maltese food prepared in the traditional way by head chef David Piscopo. Barbecue buffets will follow in the summer months.

Seashells Resort manager Joseph Vella said he was pleased with the high standards of workmanship, as well as by the completion of work within stipulated deadlines.

“The hotel will continue to focus on its all-inclusive packages, whereby food, drink and use of other facilities will be included in the price. Pre-booking for this year is extremely encouraging and we are looking forward to another great year,” he added.

This year the hotel is offering a half-board-plus package, whereby guests can enjoy unlimited house wine, beer, juices, soft drinks and coffee during meals, including Sunday lunches.
