Haute couture, elegance, modernity, sophistication and timeless beauty make Italian designer Valentino Garavani a defining figure in the fashion world.

This year, Sarto brings Valentino’s femininity and precious designs to Malta with the season’s creative ready-to-wear spring/summer 2014 collection.

Together with its accessories line, the brand continues to strengthen the bond between fashion, art and craftsmanship.

Valentino’s art grew from the 1960s with the first store openings in Rome and Milan through to the 70s and 80s, with the designer becoming the first to launch his prêt-à-porter collections for both men and women.

The name continued to grow dramatically in the US as well as in the Far East and after a lifelong investment in the world of fashion, Valentino personally engaged two new designers in 2008 – Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli – to take over as creative directors.

The fashion house continues to blend the aesthetic values of the founder with a contemporary and sophisticated vision.

The new Valentino woman is a young trendsetting socialite who moves, lives, travels and goes out. She is a contemporary romantic. Always feminine and elegant, she can be as fragile and delicate as she can be dangerous and mysterious. However, her seduction is never aggressive but always subtle.

Michelle Farrugia, managing director for Sarto, the fashion retail division within VF Group, said: “When I started working on Sarto in 2010, I had a vision of bringing the flare of the runway to the local market. Our dream came true with the opening of Sarto in 2012. This year we have taken another step forward with the Valentino Garavani ready-to-wear collection.”

Sarto, located in Ross Street, St Julian’s, houses other brands like Blumarine, Burberry Apparel and Non Apparel, Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani, Giuseppe Zanotti, Marc Jacobs and Valentino RTW.
