A group of 51 students from San Andrea School and San Anton School, L-Imselliet, accompanied by teachers and parents, recently went on a week-long skiing trip to Pila in Aosta Valley, northwest Italy. It was the first time such a trip was jointly organised by the two neighbouring schools.

During the week, the students learnt to ski and their skiing skills were continuously assessed. They also took part in various après-ski activities.

The trip provided a unique environment where the students could enjoy the area’s culture, language and geography in the company of friends. The trip also helped them develop confidence and social skills, while broadening their horizons.

The group was accommodated at the unique Etoile du Nord hotel, which is modelled on one of Aosta Valley’s many castles. The event was organised by Kevin Zammit, a PE teacher at San Andrea School, and Charles Zammit, a qualified skiing instructor, in collaboration with Interski, a British-run organisation specialising in school skiing trips. At the end of the week the students received an Interski award along with a badge and certificate to validate their achievement.
