A specialist chocolate and cacao shop has opened in Melita Street, Valletta.

Chocolate District stocks an exclusive range of chocolates, expertly made by award-winning cacaofeviers.

“There is a difference between fine chocolate made of fine cacao, and commercial chocolate made from bulk cacao. Chocolate’s bad reputation comes from all the sugar, fats and flavours that are added to candy bars to disguise the taste of poor ingredients. The appreciation of a real chocolate is as complex and enchanting as fine wine,” manager Mark Aquilina explained.

Chocolate District also stocks a variety of loose leaf teas and coffee beans from specific plantations around the world, such as Brazil’s Fazenda Lagoa and the rare Cuba’s Turquino.
