Surfski Malta have just organised a first clinic to introduce their sport to the public. The activity was held at the Seabank Hotel and Spa and instruction sessions were carried out at Għadira Bay. Surf skis are used worldwide in lifesaving exercises, kayaking and training and competition on flat-water or ocean racing. Malta, with its mild climate, is an ideal place where this sport can be practised. Over the course of the clinic, participants were instructed on the paddling technique, safety considerations and how to re-mount a surf ski. Those who attended were also introduced to the basics of downwind paddling. As part of an introduction to this growing water sport, Surfski Malta are organising a six-week beach racing series starting on Saturday. Further information can be found on the facebook page – Surfski Malta.
