As a young recruit with the Armed Forces of Malta, Cynthia Marie-Lanzon’s time is spent on training to obtain skills every soldier must possess in order to take the next step.
Even though it might come surprising to some that a woman would want to build a career in the army, Cynthia is passionate about it because of the strength she now possesses and the responsibilities she has that come with the job.
What will happen after her training program is over depends on Cynthia’s preferences which is to join the rescue section within the Air Wing but also on how well she performs. From there follows a year long training program which will prepare Cynthia to become an AFM rescue swimmer to operate from an AFM helicopter. If she succeeds, Cynthia will be the first ever female to have made it.
