The government received 45 expressions of interest for the development of the Maritime Hub at the site of the former shipbuilding yard in Marsa, Economic Affairs Minister Chris Cardona said in Parliament this evening.

In August the government had said that 28 international expressions of interest  were received by the time the call was closed. Eleven proposals were for the development of the whole site, the rest for the development of part of it.

Dr Cardona said this evening that the government would now move to its next phase of issuing a call for proposals.

The site is 175,000 metres square.
