The Childwebalert Hotline is a service within Aġenzija Appoġġ which provides an online reporting system where the public can report, in a confidential and secure manner, websites which host child sexual abuse material.

Your report will help Aġenzija Appoġġ disrupt the availability of child sexual abuse content hosted anywhere in the world and protect children who are victims of sexual abuse from repeated victimisation and public identification. Moreover, such reports help prevent internet users from accidentally stumbling across child sexual abuse content.

The Childwebalert platform is anonymous and whoever reports a website does not need to provide any information other than the URL or website address where the abusive content has been encountered. Analysts within the Appoġġ Hotline Service analyse the content to make sure that the material contains minors under the age of 18 and also trace in which country the content is hosted. All the information is then passed on to the Cybercrime Unit within the Malta Police Corps.

The Childwebalert Hotline is a member of Inhope, an international network of hotlines. Thus the offending website is then also listed on Inhope members’ report system so that the hotline of the country where the content was hosted is informed and will take the necessary action within its jurisdiction.

The Childwebalert Hotline is accessible at www.childwebalert.gov.mt.
