Video interviews of youths talking about their careers, talents, social life and fashion are being featured on The Zone at www.timesofmalta.com/thezone.

A new interview with Cynthia-Marie Lanzon, will be uploaded tomorrow. As a young recruit with the Armed Forces of Malta she is currently training to obtain skills every soldier must possess to take the next step.

Athough it may be surprising that a woman would want to build a career in the army, Lanzon is passionate about it because of the strength she now possesses and the responsibilities that come with the job.

What happens after her training programme is over depends not only on her preference, which is to join the rescue section of the Air Wing, but also on how well she performs and proves herself.

From there follows a year-long training programme which will prepare Lanzon to become an AFM rescue swimmer to operate from an AFM helicopter. If she succeeds, she will be the first ever woman to have made it.

Watch the interview on The Zone tomorrow to meet Lanzon in person.

Be heard and share your own experiences with others. Tell them about your career choice, what it takes to get where you are, the ups and downs you experience and offer advice to those who are still uncertain about what they want to do in the future.

To be interviewed for The Zone, send an e-mail with a brief description of your career, talent, or a social issue you would like to discuss.

Alternatively, you can send your own video. Send a low-resolution version of your file to thezone@timesofmalta.com.
