The new Department of Gender Issues at the University’s Faculty of Social Wellbeing will start offering a Master’s degree and PhD as from October 2015. It will include units such as Practical Applications in Family Law and Equal Opportunities in Social Work and Social Policy, which will be applied to case studies, practical workshops and group work. Various organisations are offering graduates the opportunity to undertake work placements.

At a recent meeting for stakeholders, department head Marceline Naudi stressed the need to communicate with the public on mainstream attitudes of gender issues in society. She said it was important that students are guided to do research on subjects that need the kind of deep understanding that a Masters degree can offer.
