Around 1,500 delegates are expected to attend the Junior Chamber International European conference being held in Malta between June 11 and 14.

Ismail Hazneder, the JCI executive vice president, said at the launch that the conference would leave millions of euro in the Maltese economy, as well as bringing long-term benefits to the island as its influential young delegates would act as multipliers.

The conference usually draws around 400-500 ‘senators’, a title bestowed on JCI members aged over 40 who become achievers.

The packed programme will be split over a number of hotels and will include company visits, sightseeing and corporate social responsibility events.

JCI has 150,000 members aged 18 to 40 in 119 countries, as well as a million alumni. It has been active in Malta for 20 years.
