The Malta Heart Foundation donated an automatic external defibrillator (AED) to the Maltese Olympic Committee for use at the Functional Diagnostic Laboratory at the Tal-Qroqq Complex.

The presentation was made by the foundation’s chairman Lyndon Hadley-Coates to MOC chairman Julian Pace Bonello.

The AED is an essential piece of equipment used to test athletes’ limits. It is used in cases of collapse from cardiac arrest. It is also extremely easy to use and practically anyone can use the device by simply following instructions.

It is the aim of the foundation to offer AEDs for installation in other critical areas, including sport arenas.
