Maltese software enthusiasts are being invited to join Geeklist #Hack4good 0.5, a 48-hour international hackaton on February 7-9 in over 40 cities worldwide with over 5,000 of the world’s top developers and designers coming together to make the world a better place.

The event is being organised by Hack4good, an international, multicity hackathon movement that has taken the world by storm and set the bar for bringing together software engineers, hackers, user interface designers, product developers, founders, leader, thinkers, and civic minded organisations together to ‘hack’ together for social good.

Incredible Web, as Geeklist Ambassadors in Malta, have been assigned the role to get as many developers as possible to participate in this great event. The event will be held at the Microsoft Innovation Centre, Skyparks, which has attracted similar events in recent months.

The international event has attracted global NGOs such as Amnesty International and Oxfam, and local NGOs like Inspire Malta, SOS Malta and aditus.

The international judging panel includes the best and brightest from the industry: Bram Cohen, the creator of Bittorrent; Andy Grignon, founder of Quake Labs and starter of webOS and iPhone; Ben Galbraith, vice-president of Wal-Mart and Stanislav Shalunov, creator uTorrent. The local panel will have representatives from Twelve Games, Microsoft, Take Off, PWC and Castille.

Participants will be given free refreshments and will take part in prize draws.
