Malta Public Transport Services (Operations) Limited has put up Arriva’s 81 Mercedes Citaro 18m articulated buses for sale, according to a government source

The buses, manufactured between 2004 and 2005, are being sold in ‘tale quale’ condition, and include parts. Offers are to be submitted by February 14.

One of the conditions is that the buyer has to list the buses' final destination including details of when and how they would be shipped out of Malta.

The company offered no warranty or a guarantee other than that it was the owner.

Transport Malta inherited the buses from Arriva when it took over operations late last year.

The buses were taken off the roads in August after three of them caught fire.
