Malta Public Transport, the government company which has taken over the management of the Park-and-Ride in Blata l-Bajda, said today that it is working on making more parking spaces available at the the facility.

It said that 650 parking places were occupied today, the first day of reduced tariffs. 296 cars used the facility in Monday last week

The all-day tariff has been reduced to 40c from €1.50 when the Park-and-Ride was managed by Arriva.

Motorists are being offered a choice of two mini-bus trips to Valletta, one going to City Gate and the other all around the city, every 10 minutes. The trips are performed every five minutes during peak times.

The Park-and-Ride has 750 parking slots in zones in Zones A, B and D but Malta Public Transport said it is working on making more parking spaces available in the coming weeks.
