A rider was injured and a horse bolted after collision with a car in Triq Ghajn Tuffieha, Mgarr, this afternoon.

The accident happened at 5 p.m. when the horse and sulkey were involved in collision with a Vauxhall.

The car was being driven by an 80-year-old man from Mellieha.

The horse was reined in after a short time. It was not hurt.
