St Dorothy’s Senior School, Żebbuġ, is currently running a hospitality programme, piloted as an option subject, where students are eligible to certification equivalent to a SEC examination.

As the final unit of the programme, students have to plan, organise and run a hospitality event.

The students opted to organise a fundraising dinner in aid of the Dorothean community in the Philippines, which runs a feeling and education programme for people in need.

The students executed the event under the guidance of their teachers, with each student entrusted with a number of specific tasks and responsibilities.

To cover the expenses incurred, they held various in-house fundraising activities, while several businesses also supported the initiative.

The dinner was a success, with a total of 60 guests attending and €715 being raised.
