Qormi 8

Qormi went ahead as early as the sixth minute in the only match from the HAM National League played last weekend at the Corradino Complex, when Thomas Degiovanni netted off a deflection.

After not taking advantage of a penalty corner in the ninth minute, Qormi continued to exert pressure on White Hart’s defence without breaking them down.

On 20 minutes, Kyle Micallef lashed on to a pass from Luke Brincat and slotted home a cross shot from the right side of the D.

Two minutes later Steve Tanti scored Qormi’s third and Juan Sarcia added another with a powerful drive to send Qormi into a 4-0 lead which they held up to the interval.

The second half provided much of the same fare as Tanti grabbed his second and Qormi’s fifth after receiving a pass from Degiovanni and he completed his hat-trick two minutes later, hitting home after a prolonged action inside the D.

White Hart won a penalty corner on 52 minutes to no avail but they were hit with another brace of goals when Tanti scored his fourth and Micallef netted his second and Qormi’s eighth two minutes later.

This comprehensive victory took Qormi to the top of the league standings.

Umpires: Emil Borg and James Mizzi.
