The Opposition broadly agrees with the bill on standards and ethics in public life, tabled in Parliament in December, and encouraged Speaker Anglu Farrugia to move the bill for a debate as soon possible.

In a letter to Dr Farrugia, PN leader Simon Busuttil said the Opposition considered standards, ethics and good behaviour a political priority because it believed that politics should be clean .
