Are we missing something, something of paramount importance, which could threaten our very existence?

Successive governments have done their best to solve the energy problem, and possibly we will soon have an interconnector and a gas driven power plant. So far so good. These are problems that have to be solved, and fast.

But – and it’s with a capital B – what about studying the possibility of a water pipeline from Sicily?

One would shudder to think about the consequences of an accident near our shores, such as an oil spill, as has happened elsewhere. A prominent engineer (expert in water technology) said the reverse osmosis plants would have to shut down for just three days. And then what?

Is the government still in time to acquire EU funds (Budget 2014-2020) for a water pipeline? Can the responsible authority comment please?
