Emirates Airline is welcoming 2014 by offering discounted economy and business-class fares from Malta for quick-acting customers.

The special fares apply to a number of exotic destinations across the Emirates network.

They must be booked before January 21, for departures between February 1 and July 15.

“With our excellent on-board product and a long list of exciting destinations – from Rio de Janeiro to Bangkok and Sydney – Emirates is injecting more value into business and economy-class fares,” said Emirates Malta manager Paul Fleri Soler.

Emirates launched nine new destinations in 2013: Warsaw, Algiers, Haneda (Japan), Clark (Philippines), the transatlantic Milan-New York route, Conakry (Guinea), Sialkot (Pakistan) and Kabul.

It now operates services to 138 destinations in 78 countries from Dubai.

Emirates will begin 2014 with the launch of services to Kiev, followed by Taipei and Boston on March 10.

Customers taking advantage of the special 2014 fares now have even more chances to fly on the airline’s flagship A380, with the introduction of A380 services to Mauritius and Los Angeles, launched in December. Emirates’ current A380 destinations are: Amsterdam, Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Manchester, Mauritius, Melbourne, Moscow, Munich, New York JFK, Paris, Rome, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney, Toronto and Brisbane.

Emirates will start operating scheduled A380 services to Zurich this month.

Business class and economy class passengers get a generous luggage allowance of 40 kilos and 30 kilos respectively.

Emirates operates daily scheduled flights from Malta to Dubai, of which four weekly flights fly via Larnaca, Cyprus, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Emirates operates direct flights from Dubai to Malta and return flights fly via Tripoli.
