The departure of Arriva after such a short a time is very sad indeed. This involves lots of money, inconveniences and headaches, to say the least. The news astonished many people. It seems the Maltese consider Arriva to be a taxi service, ignoring all the great difficulties the company has to face to stick to a timetable in order to please everyone.
If we don’t change this mentality and try to walk a bit (it’s good for our health), Arriva’s successor will meet the same fate notwithstanding any good intentions.
Instead of blaming Arriva, the authorities should provide better roads, more traffic control and additional bus lanes.
Since Arriva took over the bus service, we never had it so good in Gozo. For us it was a blessing. We will miss them.
