Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) competitions will resume at Ta’ Qali on Sunday following the break for the festivities with another series of races for Autocross drivers and Motocross riders.

Autocross participants will run their sixth event of the season in an anti-clockwise direction while those in Motocross are all geared up for the second round of the 2013-14 Pasta Poiatti National Championships.

A glance at the classifications in the different categories reveals some interesting placings for experienced and novice competitors alike.

In the Autocross championship, Gordon Johnson is leading the field with 66 points on board his Peugeot 205.

The runner-up position is occupied by Christian Mark Galea (Fiat Ritmo) on 61 points with Melo Zammit third on his Escort Mk3 with 60 points. Matthew Borg (Vauxhall) has 52 points.

Gozo Autocross leader Domenic Zammit, on an Alfa-Sud, has 36 points, 18 ahead of Joseph Agius. Joseph Vella is third on 13 points.

Both Agius and Vella drive a Ford Fiesta 1400cc.

Christian Apap, on an Escort Mk II, has shifted to the Maltese championship.

Melo Zammit is heading the Autocross Class A with Galea and Johnson second and third respectively.

Andrew Pisani, on a Vauxhall Nova, is currently holding top spot in the Autocross Class B which has featured some intense racing in the first five rounds.

Josef Grech, on a Ford Fiesta, and Josef Abela, on a Vauxhall Nova, are second and third.

Defending champion Clayton Camilleri tops the Class A Motocross list. He is followed by Paul Muscat, who also rides a KTM 250cc. Stefan Dimech (Honda) lies third.

The Motocross Class B leader is young Kyle Camilleri who has caught the eye with his riding skills on a Suzuki 85cc.

Pierre Jourdan, on a 150cc KTM, is second ahead of Kawasaki rider Hughston Ciantar.

On Saturday, ASMK will hold the training and practice sessions from 1pm onwards for Autocross and Motocross sections.
