Aspirin is one of the oldest medicinal drugs available today. It is used to treat mild headaches, common colds and even help prevent heart attacks and strokes. However, scientists are currently researching aspirin’s anti-cancer effects after observing that it causes cell suicide when taken over a period of time.

Aspirin and Cancer; Life through Death is the title of the next Malta Café Scientifique talk, which will be held on Thursday at 7.30pm in the Music Room of St James Cavalier, Valletta.

The talk will be delivered by Dr Gianluca Farrugia, a research officer at the University of Malta. Admission is free.
