CLATTENBURG: Referee Mark Clattenburg will take charge of today’s FA Cup tie between Arsenal and Tottenham despite a complaint made about his conduct by Southampton. Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), the body that supplies match officials to the Premier League, said yesterday that Clattenburg had no case to answer despite Southampton’s claims he “insulted” their captain Adam Lallana during the club’s 2-1 defeat at Everton on Sunday.

TAIDER: Inter coach Walter Mazzarri will have to do without midfielder Saphir Taider for Monday’s Serie A match against Lazio. Yesterday, Taider had tests for a thigh strain and Inter doctors ordered the player to rest for at least 10 days. The Algerian sus-tained the injury during a training session.

OSVALDO: Southampton forward Dani Osvaldo will miss the Premier League club’s next three games after the FA found him guilty of violent conduct yester-day. The Argentine-born Italian was involved in a touchline fracas in stoppage time during the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United last month, having already been substituted. As well as a three-match ban, Osvaldo was fined £40,000 ($65,800) for his part in the incident which also saw Newcastle coach Andy Woodman sent to the stands.

KEANE: Derby County have extended Michael Keane’s loan spell from Manchester United. Keane’s initial month-long deal expired after the Rams’ Cham-pionship defeat at home to Wigan on New Year’s Day but the 20-year-old central defender will now remain with Steve McClaren’s side until the end of January. Derby are keen to keep England Under-21 international until the end of the season.

TRAPATTONI: Former Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni could be the next Paraguay coach if current talks are concluded successfully. The 74-year-old recently confirmed he has no intention of retiring and Sky Sport Italia said Trapattoni was engaged in negotiations with the football federation of Paraguay, currently under the charge of caretaker Victor Genes.

LEAGUE ONE: Gillingham vs Wolves 1-0.
