Britannia Services was named as Air Malta’s Top Travel Agent in Malta for 2012/2013, during a reception held for the members of the travel trade.

Britannia Services generated the highest Air Malta ticket sales for outgoing individual, group and charter bookings.

Air Malta’s chief commercial officer Philip Saunders presented the award to Noel Farrugia, director of Britannia Services Ltd.

“Agents remain a key part of the travel business and this is why Air Malta believes in showing gratitude to all involved while recognising those who really stood out with their hard work and loyalty by driving lots of traffic our way,” said Mr Saunders, adding that the airline has kept to its targets and restructuring plan thanks to the work of all staff and stakeholders.

Auditing qualification offered by Lead Training Services

A new award in internal auditing, the only qualification for internal auditors available locally, is being organised by Lead Training Services, starting in February, 2014.

An internationally acclaimed speaker and internal auditing contributor, Marinus De Pooter, will deliver the first module in governance, risk, compliance and internal auditing. The other four modules are spread out until April, 2014.

Participants, who are limited to no more than 25, will obtain a CPD Award Qualification (MQF Level 6), accredited by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education and recognised overseas. Tertiary Education and a minimum of two years working within a business (private or public) organisation are the entry requirements.

BRND WGN becomes the first ISO-certified creative agency

Malta-based creative agency BRND WGN is not only an official Google partner but is now also ISO-certified.

Best known for producing a series of viral videos for Air Malta, BRND WGN works with many of Malta’s top brands including Cisk, Malta International Airport, Alberta, Agenda, Eurosport, The Point, Liquigas, Midi and Calamatta Cuschieri.

BRND WGN started as a one-man operation providing strategic consultancy but has now grown into a fully-integrated creative agency employing 29 people – more than a third of whom were employed within the last 12 months.

“Creative agencies like us often come across as a bit kooky but our latest achievements show that there is method to the BRND WGN madness,” said CEO Peter Grech.

“ISO-9001 certification was an important milestone for us because it confirms that our processes are efficient, successful and internationally recognised.”

Double delivery for Emirates

Emirates has received delivery of its 43rd and 44th A380 aircraft with a double delivery from Airbus’ Finkenwerder facility in Hamburg, Germany. This means that one in every three A380s flying today is an Emirates aircraft

The latest A380s have been fitted with even bigger high definition LCD TV screens to enhance the inflight entertainment experience.

There are also new touch-screen tablets that allow passengers to control all their seat functions and movie selections with just one swipe.
