• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm.

• Masses in English will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria, today, the feast of the Holy Family, at 10am, and on Wednesday, the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God, at 10am.

• In Praesepio – Fil-Maxtura is a live Christmas crib organised by the Għaqda Ħbieb tal-Presepju fin-Nadur taking place at Dar Dun Franġisk Grima, 37 Racecourse Street, Nadur, today from 3 to 8pm.

• The Wolverine will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm and Despicable Me 2 on Wednesday.

• A musico-literary Christmas concert by the Santa Cecilia Choir and Brass Ensemble with the participation of soprano Roasabelle Pavia and tenor Mario Portelli will be held today at 6pm at St Francis conventual church, Victoria.

• Għaqda Mużikali Viżitazzjoni of Għarb will present the second edition of its annual end-of-year concert today at 8pm at Kempinski Hotel, San Lawrenz. The concert, entitled Dreams of Vienna will feature Viennese music, including popular waltzes, marches and polkas. The band will be under the baton of Mro George Apap. Admission is free and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

• New Year’s Eve in the City will take place in Independence Square and St George’s Square, Victoria, on Tuesday from 10pm onwards. It will feature Gianluca and Band, Fakawi, The Travellers, Divine Sinners, Strait Ahead, Novel and MAE. The climax of the event will be the countdown to the new year.

• The Nadur MUSEUM Males Section will present a Christmas musical play entitled Milied fil-Miżien (Christmas in the balance) on Wednesday at 7.30pm at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria. The play is scripted and directed by Mark Azzopardi and has a cast of over 30 young actors. Admission is free.

• The Gaulitanus Choir will present a concert entitled A New Year’s Toast – 2, on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the Gozo Ministry’s hall, Victoria. Admission is free. The choir, directed by founder-director Colin Attard and accompanied by Stephen Attard, will include young up-and-coming violinist Pierre Louis Attard, who has returned from his studies in Scotland.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions in Gozo (including couples) for First Friday Mass in Maltese on Friday at 8pm at St Augustine’s church, Victoria. The sacrament of Reconciliation will be available a few minutes earlier.

• The Epiphany Concert, featuring the Classique Chamber Orchestra and sopranos Claudia Tabone and Rosabelle Pavia under the direction of Mro Joseph Debrincat, will be held on Saturday at 7.30pm at the Gozo Cathedral, Victoria.

• Bethel Charismatic Group will hold a prayer meeting at MAS headquarters, Victoria, on Saturday at 7pm.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Għasri parish church on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• A six-hour course entitled An Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) will be held on January 26 from 10am to 5.30pm in front of the Gozo campus in Xewkija.

ABA is a method of studying and managing behaviour to bring about change. It uses techniques to bring about meaningful and positive change in behaviour, such as giving rewards and positive reinforcement. These are often used with children with autism, learning disabilities, behavioural difficulties and attention deficit disorders.

The course is ideal for learning support assistants, teachers and child carers. It will be led by Jacqueline Abela DeGiovanni, director of Hand in Hand Malta and of Play Therapy Malta, and assistant course director at the Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy. The fee is €70 per person. Lunch is not included.
