The total number of nights spent in tourist accommodation in October grew by 7.2 per cent and arrivals went up by 13.4 per cent when compared to the same period last year.
A total of 822,738 nights were spent in all types of accommodation while the number of arrivals stood at 147,115, the National Statistics Office said.
The highest increase was recorded in three-star hotels and the largest share of guest nights was in four-star hotels, accounting for 383,559, or 46.6 per cent of the total.
The average length of stay in collective accommodation establishments dropped from 5.9 nights in October 2012 to 5.6 nights in the same month this year.
Total arrivals and nights spent in Gozo and Comino grew by 22.4 per cent and 10 per cent to 7,645 and 31,631 respectively, the NSO said.
