The Urban Jungle Mdina to Spinola race lived up to its reputation as a popular event at this time of the year when a full complement of around 600 runners took part yesterday. Mark Herrera (picture) was the winner when covering the 17.4km distance in 58m44s. The runner-up was Jonathan Balzan, eight seconds slower than Herrera. Two others went under the one-hour mark yesterday – Steve Chetcuti (59:06) and Charles Cilia (59:11). The top three in the women’s race were Giselle Camilleri (1:06.25), Josann Attard Pulis (1:11.31) and Marthese Mercieca (1:12:23).
