• The Smurfs 2 will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm and The Nativity Story on Wednesday, Christmas Day.

• At least 200 actors will take part in the 45th edition of the traditional Christmas pageant of San Lawrenz which will be held today at 6pm. It starts from the village’s parish church and parvis and proceeds along the main streets of San Lawrenz, and will also use some homes in the village. A free warm welcome drink and traditional sweets will be served to all those present.

• As they have been doing for the past 32 years, The Tramps will be singing Christmas melodies in the streets of Victoria tomorrow from 4.30 to 7pm, and collecting donations for Arka Foundation. The public’s generosity is greatly appreciated.

• A short musical in Maltese entitled Fid-Dawl tal-Kewkba about the Christmas story will be performed by children on Christmas Eve at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria. It starts at 11.30pm and will be followed by Midnight Mass, which will include the traditional boy’s sermon.

• Masses in English will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria, as follows: at 10pm on Christmas Eve; at 10am on Christmas Day, Friday, next Sunday and on January 1. On Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Mass is at 10am.

• Joe Fenech, superior of the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) will hold a prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompey church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. Everyone is invited. He also presents a weekly Saturday programme from 1 to 3pm on Radju Maria.

• One of the dates of The Twelve Days of Christmas performances has changed. It will held at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, on Saturday at 7.30pm and on January 5 at 2.30pm. The two-hour musical features song and dance based on Christmas music and popular cartoon characters. After each show children may take photos with their favourite cartoon characters. • The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at St Francis church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• Bethel Charismatic Group will hold a prayer meeting at MAS headquarters, Victoria, on Saturday at 7pm.

• The Nadur MUSEUM males section is presenting a Christmas musical play entitled Milied fil-Miżien (Christmas in the balance) on January 1 at 7.30pm at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria. The play, written and directed by Mark Azzopardi, includes a cast of over 30 young actors. Admission is free.
