Engelbert Grech has been appointed Film Commissioner by Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia.

Mr Grech graduated with Honours in Communications at the University of Malta and  pursued further studies overseas. He has over 18 years’ experience in television and film productions, the ministry said.

His work was screened in various major cities as part of the roving EU film festival.

He has directed and produced various productions for local and international distribution, amongst other The History Channel and Discovery Channel. In 2009, Mr Grech has been listed among the World’s 30 Achievers of the Year and won the Maltese Achiever of the Year Award in the arts section by the Junior Chamber International.

Mr Grech takes over from Peter Busuttil.
