Luxol maintained their good form of late in the FXDD Premier Division after seeing off Pembroke 7-3 at the Corradino Sports Pavilion to go top of the standings along-side Hibernians.

Like Hibernians and Balzan, Luxol are still unbeaten in this season’s championship.

A goal after just 30 seconds paved the way for Luxol’s victory over fifth-placed Pembroke who offered stiff resistance with goalkeeper Bernard Camilleri pulling off a string of superb saves.

Luxol’s goals came from Eslam Khalifa, who scored a hat-trick, a William Barbosa double and other strikes from Ibrahim Tarek and Dean Gera.

Young Dario Zampa made his debut for the winners in this match.

Wayne Muscat netted twice for Pembroke with Kenneth Ekezie getting the other goal.

Balzan chalked up their sixth consecutive win after beating Ħamrun Spartans 14-3.

Despite the massive scoreline, the Spartans should be lauded for the way they countered the waves of Balzan attacks.

However, a flurry of goals eventually led to their downfall as the Spartans found it difficult to stage a reaction.

Emil Raducu (4), Gabriel Dobre (3), Marc Areny Albert (2), Glenn Bonello (2), Mark Tanti (2) and Jovica Milijic were the goal-getters for Balzan.

Żabbar St Patrick went up to sixth place after a clear 8-3 win over lowly Żurrieq while Vittoriosa Stars had the better of bottom-placed Swieqi 9-3 for their second win of the season.

In the First Division, victories for Kalkara and Msida saw both teams consolidating their places in the mid-table zone of the standings.

Kalkara had to work overtime to beat bottom side Mqabba 2-1 and Msida were also involved in a thrilling encounter after downing Fgura 5-4.
