The Labour Party said this afternoon that Nationalist leader Simon Busuttil was trying to shift responsibility when he left it up to Austin Gatt to answer questions on the €2,000 donation to his campaign made by oil trader George Farrugia.

Meanwhile, Dr Gatt was claiming that he did not know about the donation.

The PL said Dr Busuttil and Dr Gatt were forgetting how closely they had worked together during the electoral campaign and one of them was blaming the other.

Simon Busuttil was trying to evade responsibility and trying to blame Dr Gatt and Dr Gatt was throwing matters back to Dr Busuttil.

The PL said this was children’s play which could not continue any longer as it was to the detriment of the people. The people had a right to ask questions and know where their money had gone.

Everyone needed to shoulder his responsibility.
