The MSE Share Index maintained its upward trend with the third consecutive increase as it climbed marginally higher during this morning’s session to yet another 33-month high of 3,576.809 points.

The share price of GO plc advanced by a further 0.3% to a new 33-month high of €1.75 on a trade of 10,000 shares. Last week, Forthnet announced that the period for its shareholders to trade the rights entitlement has been extended from 18 December to 27 December. Meanwhile, shareholders wishing to exercise their rights must do so by 3 January.

Similarly, the share price of Malta International Airport plc edged minimally higher to €2.101 across 10,300 shares. The only other positive performing equity was Tigné Mall plc with a 1% increase to the €0.515 level across 100,000 shares.

On the other hand, Lombard Bank Malta plc slipped 0.5% lower to €1.85 across four deals totalling 5,844 shares.

Meanwhile, all other five active equities ended the session unchanged. Bank of Valletta plc held on to the €2.61 on a small trade of 379 shares. The Bank is scheduled to hold its Annual General Meeting tomorrow. During the meeting shareholders will be asked to approve a number of resolutions including the final gross dividend of €0.13 per share and a 1 for 10 bonus issue.

Additionally, shareholders will have the opportunity to elect six Directors out of the eleven nominees. Similarly, HSBC Bank Malta plc held on to the €2.57 level across 4,375 shares.

Likewise, no changes were registered in the share prices of the two active IT equities with 3,900 RS2 Software plc shares trading unchanged at the €2.28 level and 6pm Holdings plc maintaining the GBP0.70 level across three deals totalling 14,416 shares.

The only other active equity, Middlesea Insurance plc also ended this morning’s session unchanged at the €0.90 level on an insignificant deal of 230 shares.

On the bond market, the Rizzo Farrugia MGS Index edged 0.1% higher to 1,021.241 points as Eurozone yields eased minimally below the 1.83% level. In the past few days, Eurozone yields have traded mostly sideways as investors await the US Federal Reserve monetary policy decision at the conclusion of its monetary policy meeting later on today.
