US First Lady Michelle Obama read "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" to hospitalized children at Children's National Medical Center in Washington on Monday.

Accompanied by her two dogs Bo and Sunny, Obama sat next to Santa Claus as she read the Christmas story to a crowd of young patients and their parents.

The event has become a traditional holiday activity for first ladies since Bess Truman began it.
