Since winning a scholarship at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, London, as well as the Scholarship for Artistic Excellence at Martha Graham School, New York, the US, Kanellopoulou has danced for nearly 14 years and is well known across Europe, including Malta.

The Zone met Athanasia to learn what it is like to be an international performer and making a living from dance, and what skills are required to become a professional artist and a choreographer.
