Aġenzija Sapport, together with around 350 of its service users, recently marked Disability Week with a thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Archbishop Paul Cremona at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Following Mass, the day unfolded with a percussion activity by the Mtarfa Day Centre and dances performed by service users attending other centres, namely Marsascala, Ħal Far, Cottonera, Fleur-de-Lys and the Mtarfa Resource Centre. The event ended with a Christmas party.

Present for the event were Family and Social Solidarity Minister Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Foundation for Social Welfare Services CEO Sina Bugeja and Aġenzija Sapport’s operations director Mauro Farrugia.

The agency presented €800 – collected by clients and their parents as well as by staff members of its day services – to the Mission Fund.

Aġenzija Sapport is committed to enhance the quality of life of people with disability through promoting full participation in community life. The agency also values the inclusion of people with disability in all aspects of society and believes society stands to gain from this participation. The agency, through its services, focuses on the abilities a person has rather than the disability.
